Lyceum Academy

Established in 2017, beginning with the Class of 2021, this group of scholars makes the journey of high school being part of a support and enrichment system. The Lyceum Academy was created with the support of N-MUSD’s Superintendent and School Board to retain and attract gifted and talented 9th grade students in the Estancia High School attendance area.

The program is designed to identify incoming 9th grade students with strong academic skills and motivation, and provide these students with support structures needed to qualify for admission at some of the nation’s top-tier universities.  The vision of the Lyceum Academy is to provide a personalized high school experience with individualized support and college guidance, exclusive educational and cultural experiences, and a broad range of college visits, including an extended visit to colleges in Northern California.  Students will have at least one class in common every year. Students who are involved in other programs are given opportunities to take summer school courses through Coastline Community College. During 11th and 12th grade, the goal for all Lyceum students is to qualify for either the College Board Capstone Diploma or earn the AP Seminar and Research Certificate. All students participate in the Lyceum Colloquium in late May, which is a showcase of their skills.

All students develop a close relationship with their Lyceum Academy advisory teachers and counselor. The hope is that participation in the Lyceum Academy will provide Estancia High School students the opportunity to distinguish themselves as they pursue their post-high school goals.

The noun "Lyceum" refers to a literary or teaching institution, first named that way from Aristotle's followers.

Application for fall of 2023 is now open for incoming 8th graders and qualified 9th graders.  Click on link below!

Application deadline March 31. In-person interviews will be held the afternoons of April 4, 5, 6
