Mission Statement
The mission of the School Counseling program at EHS is to create and support an ethical, nurturing and challenging learning environment for all students. As professional school counselors we provide academic, career, and personal/social development leading to high academic achievement and successful post high school pursuits for every student....every day.
Philosophy
We believe...
- Every student deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
- Every student is a unique individual who will learn and process information differently and, given proper support and encouragement, will achieve and be successful.
- All students have the right to a safe and supportive learning environment.
- In setting high academic and personal/social standards for all students.
- School Counselors provide Academic, Career and Personal/Social Development and serve as an advocate for all students.
- In collaborating with administration, teachers and parents to support student achievement.
- We have a role in educational reform; that is our responsibility to address barriers to student achievement and success.
- Our behavior and words impact student learning and motivation; that as a school community we must insist on student's achievement.
