Welcome to

The Estancia HS Music Department!

The goal of the program is to provide students with a quality music education as well as provide our student musicians with many exciting and challenging performance opportunities that enrich their education, support their school and honor our community.

The Estancia Concert/Marching Band

These are dedicated musicians on campus! The Estancia Band provides the spirit and song for many student celebrations on campus, various athletic events throughout the school year and special performances for the community of Costa Mesa and beyond. Past performances include: Music in the Parks at Knott's Berry Farm, the Balboa Island Parade, the Costa Mesa 5k Run & Expo. Please visit the monthly Band Calendar for more up-to-date information.

Now is the time to learn a NEW instrument! Students do not need any experience to enroll in this class. This class is open to all students with a love for music and a desire to contribute to the Estancia community! The only requirements are you need to be willing at all times to Be Your Best, Show Respect, Be Prepared & Be On Time.

We invite YOU to be a part of this amazing group of students, parents and volunteers! Make life-long friends, feel the thrill of performing for large crowds, have so much fun traveling here and there, and be a part of something that is bigger than any one person, all while playing your instrument and making MUSIC together. We would LOVE to welcome you into our Band family!

Please contact the Band Director or speak to any of our Band Student Leaders for more information on how to join the fun. Go Band!

Students can expect to work on their improvisation skills during class and can even be selected to "solo" during a performance. We are currently auditioning for the following instrumentation: Saxophones, Trumpets, Trombones & Rhythm Section.

Guitar: This class is open to all students with a love for music and of guitar playing. In this class we learn traditional music notation (with a brief review of tablature) and learn how to read melodies and chord symbols. Students work as a whole class to prepare music for concerts and they also have time to work individually so they can practice and refine the guitar playing skills we are learning in class.

Strings:This class is open to all students with a love for music and of strings. In this class, students will be assigned one of the following instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello or Bass. Students will learn music notation, learn the playing fundamentals of their instrument and will work together as a class to prepare music for our concerts. There is limited space in this class, so please see your counselor to enroll in this class.
